If there’s one thing that Oregonians, and especially Central Oregonians, love, it is their dogs and their food cart pods.
Portland may be the epicenter for the food truck revolution but there is perhaps no other city that has embraced the food truck dining and drinks culture as fully as Bend, Oregon.
Bend is also known as one of the most dog-friendly towns in the entire country. With miles of trails, plenty of outdoorsy folks, and no shortage of rivers and lakes for a dip on a hot day this amazing place that we call home is also perfect for the pups in our lives.
And now there is a new business in Bend that combines our love for food truck dining and our furry friends (cats included!).
Ponch’s Place!
A Veterinary Clinic with its own Food Cart Pod
If you’ve ever felt yourself thinking that a trip to the vet would be much easier if you could sit outside and enjoy a beer and some tacos then your dreams have been answered!
Only in Oregon could this combination become a reality!
Ponch’s Place is Bend’s newest food cart pod and is attached to the brand new Veterinary Referral Center of Central Oregon (VRCCO for short.)
This state-of-the-art veterinary clinic offers 24-hour urgent care along with a whole host of specialty care options for your fuzzy little friends.
Ponch’s Place Food Cart Pod
Ponch’s Place is a food cart pod with pet owners in mind.
This much-needed northeast side location is currently home to four food trucks, a covered dining area with plenty of seating, a beer garden, and a water bottle and dog dish filling station to keep everyone hydrated.
Food Trucks at the Pod
The pod is currently fully up and running with four food trucks that cover the gamut of culinary options. As of mid-March 2024, you have pizza, Chinese, Mexican, and American food options so there is something for everyone!
Alley Dogz
You may know Alley Dogz from their Midtown Yacht Club location and now they have branched out to a second spot.
This food truck serves up traditional Americana fare of hot dogs, burgers (their smash burger is criminally underrated!), and fries.
Sweet Herb
Sweet Herb fills in a much-needed Chinese food void in the Bend food truck scene.
This amazing spot serves up dumplings, buns, salads, and an impressive array of coffee and tea drinks.
God of Pizza
God of Pizza was previously located on the west side of town but has relocated to their new east side spot.
We think this location will do amazing over here with so many closeby neighborhoods and not a ton of pizza options.
Carmelita’s
I have a feeling that we will be ordering A LOT of cheese quesadillas from Carmelita’s over the next few years.
We can’t wait to dig into their full menu of traditional taco truck fare!
Beer Hall
Like any Bend food cart pod, you can’t have food carts without a selection of locally brewed beers. Well, they have you covered in this department as well with 8 rotating beer taps as well as kombucha and cider options.
